Trailer Cleaning Guide

No situation is the same when washing aluminum trailers. Temperature, surface condition, equipment, and dilution ratios all affect your wash. Our products are highly concentrated, so final strength can be adjusted depending on the level of buildup you’re dealing with.

For first time users, test on a small section first and adjust your mix as needed before washing the entire trailer.

Before starting, we recommend doing a high-pressure pre-rinse to remove loose dirt, mud, and heavy debris.

Our Two-Step Wash Systems

We offer two versions of our two-step wash depending on the finish of your aluminum.

Polish Safe System

  • Sooner Brite (Step #1)

  • Bronco (Step #2)

Non-Polish Safe System

  • Cowboy Brite (Step #1)

  • Wrangler (Step #2)

Both systems follow the same application process.

Step 1 — Apply Step #1

Apply either Sooner Brite or Cowboy Brite depending on the system you are using.

  • Use a foam cannon or downstream injector

  • Apply from the bottom up to ensure full coverage

  • Allow product to dwell for about 30–60 seconds

  • Do not allow product to dry on the surface

This step begins breaking down road film, grease, and oxidation.

Step 2 — Apply Step #2

Apply either Bronco or Wrangler depending on the system you are using directly over Step #1.

  • Do not rinse between steps

  • Apply again from the bottom up

  • Allow another 30–60 seconds of dwell time

  • Do not allow product to dry on the surface

The two-step reaction helps release road film and restore shine without heavy brushing.

Step 3 — Rinse Thoroughly

  • Rinse using high pressure

  • Rinse from top to bottom (be sure to get the roof)

  • Make sure all soap is removed to prevent streaking or film

  • For best results, do a final spot free rinse with RO or DI water

Tips for Best Results

  • Avoid washing in direct sunlight when possible

  • Always make sure the surface is cool before applying soap

  • Never allow chemicals to dry on aluminum or painted surfaces

  • Pre-rinse with cold water if the surface is hot

  • Drying after rinsing can help prevent water spots if you do not have RO or DI water

For heavily soiled trailers, agitation with a soft bristle or hogs hair brush or mitt may help improve results.
